Cotillion

The Ebony Pearls Foundation is the financial arm of Rho Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in Jackson Mississippi.  The Calendar Girl Cotillion is the culmination of a three-month training program in which the young women engaged in leadership development workshops, etiquette sessions, community service, social activities, and events.  The cotillion of inspires volunteerism, community service, and cultural awareness; in addition, it supports the foundation's mission of enhancing the quality of life in Hinds, Madison, and Rankin Counties by providing access to necessary resources.

The funds raised from the cotillion are put back into the community through the awarding of scholarships to area high school seniors.  The scholarship recipients, which number more than 100 recipients since its inception, have gone on to become engineers, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, lawyers, and other successful professionals.
