Who We Are

The Ebony Pearls Foundation, Incorporated, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Mississippi, was founded in 1998 by the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Rho Lambda Omega Chapter. Originally established as the philanthropic arm of the Chapter, the Foundation has since expanded its mission and now operates independently while continuing to partner closely with the Chapter on initiatives that serve the community.

Together, the Foundation and the Rho Lambda Omega Chapter remain deeply committed to uplifting the citizens of Hinds, Madison, and Rankin Counties. You’ll often find both organizations collaborating on impactful social, civic, and charitable initiatives. These include:

  • Calendar Girl Cotillion

  • EmpowerHER Conference

  • All-White Affair

  • Partners in Education

  • Habitat for Humanity

  • Premiere Putters Golf Clinic

  • The Ivy Links Invitational Golf Tournament

  • Meals for the Unhoused

  • Self-Defense Training

  • Adoption of the NCBA Senior Living Facility

  • Youth Mentoring Programs

The Foundation is governed by its own Board of Directors and officers, who oversee the administration of its programs, policies, and regular operations, including an Annual Meeting.

Scholarships & Community Impact

One of the Foundation’s core priorities is providing academic scholarships to high school seniors across Hinds, Madison, and Rankin Counties. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $226,000 in scholarships—affirming its commitment to education and community empowerment.

The Ivy Pointe: A Home for Service

In 2023, the Foundation achieved a significant milestone with the purchase of a 12,000 sq. ft. facility, now known as The Ivy Pointe, located at 5959 I-55N West Frontage Road, Jackson, MS. This new facility will serve as the hub for most of the Foundation’s programs and initiatives, strengthening its ability to deliver meaningful service and impact to the community.
